Our Research and Concepts Behind ImagineWear

COVID 19

COVID-19 has led to an increase in global fashion e-commerce and global fast fashion industries. Due to an absence of brick-and-mortar stores, however, customers have been unable to try on clothes, leading to an increase in clothing waste, pollution, and customer returns. Though e-commerce stores provide measurement, it has been shown to be complicated to effectively size.

Environment

The fast fashion industry accounts for nearly 10% of global carbon dioxide output, with the general fashion industry generating 20% of global wastewater due to production procedures.

Inventory

In 2018, H&M alone retained $4.3 Billion USD worth of unsold inventory. Common practice in fast fashion is to burn unsold inventory due to mold, releasing plastic microfibers into the air.

Fit & Size

Known as bracketing, 58% of consumers intentionally purchase clothing in multiple sizes with the intent to return unfit sizes; fit and size account for 42% of clothing returns
